Vic Norian

Vic Norian began his musical studies at age 13. After completing the Grade 9 Toronto Conservatory piano exam with first class honours, he enrolled in music at McGill University in a program that included a conducting course with Dr.Alexander Brott. He then switched to science and graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry.

However, music remained a very significant part of his life. After trying out various orchestral instruments, he took up the flute at age 24 and has had numerous teachers including David Cramer who played with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra at the time.

Vic has played with various ensembles including the Concordia University Orchestra. Since moving to Ottawa He has been playing with the Parkdale Orchestra as well as coaching flute choirs. He has recently retired from teaching but continues to play with the Parkdale Orchestra and participates in chamber music groups.
